Ultraorthodox Jews Demonstrations in Israel

Of the 7.6 billion inhabitants of the world, about 15 million are Jewish; less than one-quarter of 1% of the total world population. God promised to bring out of Abraham a great nation. God also promised to make Abraham a blessing to many. Just think what the world would be like without Jews. Without them, we’d have no Bible, without them maybe we would have no Jesus. Without the Jewish Jesus, there’d be no Christianity. Without the Jews maybe there would be no Ten Commandments. God promised to bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse them. He has kept that promise faithfully. No nation in history has blessed Israel like the United States of America. God promised the prophecies of His Word are overwhelmingly challenging us to place Israel in the center of our prayers, of our purpose and of out protection.

Hundreds of ultraorthodox Jews on Monday protested the arrest of a community member who refused to enlist in the military. Dozens of protestors partially blocked the main street in the Bnei Brak, central Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition had been feuding over whether to continue granting exemptions from military service to ultra-orthodox religious men. Netanyahu’s religious coalition partners demanded that the government extend the military exemptions, but rival parties have threatened to bolt the coalition over the issue, raising the possibility of early elections.

Netanyahu reached a compromise with a key religious partner at a late night meeting appearing to defuse the crisis. However, a junior coalition partner said he would not support the compromise.

Military service for ultra-orthodox men is one of the most fraught topics in Israel. And looked to undermine Netanyahu’s coalition government which is 66 out of 120 lawmakers.
