Guatemala Joins the US and Moves its Israeli Embassy to Jerusalem

Holly McClure from LoveWorld USA News spoke about the historic US Embassy move in Israel. The segment was just in time for the end of the Holy Land Tour with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. The Pastor, and the entire Christ Embassy church are avid supporters of Israel and enthusiastically recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

If you thought the US was the only one moving their embassy to Jerusalem, they’re not alone. Guatemala opened its new embassy in Jerusalem, becoming the second country to do so after the United States. Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales opened the embassy on Wednesday, just two days after a high-powered American delegation also marked the transfer of its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

“We opened the American embassy in Jerusalem two days ago and it’s a coincidence that Guatemala is opening its embassy in Jerusalem right among the first. You are always among the first.” Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel.

Guatemala followed the US to be the second country to recognize Israel 70 years ago. Paraguay says it’s also going to relocate its embassy. It is definitely a trend worth following.

Holy had the privilege of interviewing a Guatemalan Pastor that was able to explain the close connection his country had to Israel. The fact that the country is over 60% Christian is one of the major factors for its support.
